The Old Convent
Owned and operated since 2005 by Dermot Gannon, Food & Wine Magazine’s Best Chef in Southern Ireland 2015, The Old Convent is nestled at the foot of the Knockmealdown Mountains in beautiful County Tipperary. The House is a unique destination for those seeking elegant accommodation, Irish artisan cuisine, refreshing walks in the picturesque countryside and a convenient location to explore local antiquities and natural amenities. The Convent was constructed in 1885 when the Sisters of Mercy were asked to take charge of Clogheen Workhouse. Stroll through the mature gardens, explore the Vee Gap with a scenic mountain drive or hill walk, relax by the fire, and enjoy a delicious meal in the Chapel dining room.
